This A3 map folds gracefully into an A6 hand-held booklet, offering curated locations for travelers seeking a deeper experience of Kaashi. The design is steeped in traditional Indian motifs, echoing the textures and visual language of the city itself. It not only informs but also evokes a sense of reverence for the land it depicts.
We wanted to move beyond conventional tourism maps—this had to feel personal, ceremonial, almost sacred. Drawing from postal stamps, pilgrimage markers, and the visual rhythm of temple carvings, we built a visual narrative that feels timeless. The challenge was to make it intimate yet informative, folded yet expansive.
The front cover mimics a postal relic, invoking nostalgia and reverence, while the inside carries detailed routes framed in temple-inspired borders. Every element—from typography to texture—was chosen to reflect Kaashi’s layered aesthetic. The result is a design that invites the user not just to visit, but to dwell, reflect, and remember.
